About the Complex

The Maadi Armed Forces Medical Complex is one of Egypt’s largest integrated hospitals, serving both civilians and the military in Cairo. The complex provides multi-specialty care supported by modern diagnostic and treatment facilities, 24/7 emergency services, and a network of specialized centers.

With approximately 1,400 beds, 217 ICU units, and 37 operating rooms, the complex handles 220,000+ patients annually. Key specialties include oncology & hematology, cardiology and catheterization, ophthalmology, dentistry, nephrology and dialysis, psychiatry & addiction treatment, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, in addition to comprehensive outpatient clinics.

Founded in 1965 (concept 1961) and administered by the Egyptian Armed Forces Medical Services, the complex continues to expand with a new cancer hospital (~300 beds), an enlarged dialysis center, upgraded ICU and emergency capacity, and advanced labs and imaging units — all to deliver world-class care.
